Strange problem with "Capitaine Flam"...

Hi!

I usually don't have any problems with decrypting at all, but now I encountered a disc that I just can't decrypt. The disc is "Capitaine Flam" (that's Captain Future for you german, english and japanese speaking folks), french R2 disc. I'm from Austria and the french gives me a hard time already, but the disc itself is the real bitch here. My drive won't even truly recognize it as a DVD (it's not the OS, I tried with Win2K, Win98 and Linux), Linux can't mount it and Win2K thinks it's an AudioCD with one track. Most of the time it just freezes the system and isn't even recognized as an AudioCD. Occasionally the system recognizes the disc and shows me the files on it, but then again I can't even play it in a Software-Player, the Player just tells me the file (VTS_01_1) isn't readable.

What's the deal with that crazy disc? Bad authoring? How could I get the VOBs on my disc?

And while I'm at it: Is there a way to decrypt VOB-files that were still encrypted when they were copied to the HD?

I bought them because I want to mess with the picture-master a little. I'm a semi-professional sound engineer and I want to get some skills on 5.1 mixing, so I'm trying to rebuild the soundtrack in 5.1. I won't record speech though, but maybe, at least if I like the result (and in case i'll finish the project), I'll send the result to the german license-holder, for free, as I'd really like to see a re-dub or some sort of restoration on the series. The german version is, as you probably know, heavily cut.

The other thing I wanna try (because I want to learn how to work with AVID and cut-lists as I want to find a job in post-production) is to mess with the german audio-tracks, trying to re-cut the current german version with the picture from the dvd. Won't do all eps though, I'll try one story only just for learning purposes.

Sag mal, glaubst du dass du die mir die SVCDs mal zukommen lassen könntest? Im Esel gibt's die als VCD, aber die Tonqualität ist nicht gerade berauschend. Kannst auch ganz klar nein sagen, bin nicht böse ;)
