ac3 with tmpg

can anyone tell me if i use an ac3 audio created with dvd2avi or just a ripped one with smartripper or dvd dycriptor will tmpg keep the ac3 5.1 propertes wen encodeing thx in advance

i should really add that i am doing a dvd 2 dvd-r shrinking the movie 2 fit on a 4.7gb,i have tried rempeg 2 no evail and cce just crashes on me at about 20% i think the crashing could b bcos im useing a 900 duron but maybe not i dunno

Tmpgenc will accept the ac3 just fine. It should also accept your d2v file aswell.

yes i no that but wen its encodeing does it encode the movie with the 5.1 sound so it retains the proper sound
