First of all I apologise to the moderators if this is the wrong Forum.

I wanna make a copy of the DVD of Disney's Dinosaur. The DVD gives a choice of Widescreen(1.85:1) or FullScreen(1.33:1) when played on my DVD player. But when I rip with smartripper - It shows two titles in movie mode of similar (large size) which I am assuming to be 1 each for fullscreen and widescreen respectively. The strange thing is, the title reported by smartripper as 4:3 is said to be 16:9 by DVD2AVI and vice-versa. Also, ripped files from both titles play fullscreen in WinDVD. I can actually see from playback that DVD2AVI is correct in regocnizing aspect ration (since 16:9 playing fullscreen looks streched) but the question is why dont the files play as widescreen when played in WinDVD. Why do they stretch to fullscreen. I wanna say that when the DVD is played in widescreen mode everyhting is fine.

Any suggestions? Or do I even have a problem =[

Thanx

Actually DVD2SVCD recognizes the 16:9 part as :

- 16:9(borders added, encoded as 4:3)

Can anyone explain this? Now surely I am in the wrong forum. Requesting a 'Move' from the moderators :)

Thanx

Hi-

Ordinarily the Full Screen version (which is also probably the default version chosen by Smart Ripper) has a slightly larger file size than the Wide Screen version, if that's any help.

The strange thing is here the widescreen version has 4 vob files whereas the fullscreen has only 3 =[

Hi-

Yeah, that's very strange, especially if they're both the same length (in time).
