I recently, successfully editted movies by RIPing them, demuxing, removing those cells I didn't want and re-muxing. IFOedit/VOBedit are *amazing* tools!
On one 2-layer DVD, I first did a demux to cell and got nearly 2000 cells. Thinking I didn't need this level of granularity, I tried demux to VOB and was surprised I got exactly the same thing. I then noticed that the main movies was contained in a few large cell vobs and that I could delete the many smaller cells.
How does demux to cell and demux to vob differ and under what conditions do they end up doing the same thing?
I am similarly unclear about the diff between join clips and join cellVOBs. When do I use what?
