DVD Decrypter 3.0.0.17 error

When I start DVD Decrypter 3.0.0.17 on my Win98SE I get this error:

10093
Successful WSAStartup not yet performed.

Any ideas apart from getting the latest version?

OK I found this suggestion on the DVD Decrypter forum:

"Install TCP/IP and it will work fine."

Is this true? how? I mean what has TCP/IP got to do with DVD Decrypter?

Its true. The component I use for the 'new version' checking seems to fall over if tcpip isnt installed.
One day I might find time to look into another way of doing it.
I have very little control over how that thing functions :(

Btw, why are you still using 3.0.0.17?

OK 3.1.1.0 is WAAAYYY better than previous versions! Great work! Still needs the TCP/IP to be installed though.
