Hi,
I´m trying to make a vcd from an avi with ac3 sound. Since TMPG doesn´t recognize ac3 sound, I used nadub to make a wav file from that avi. But TMPG says "unsupported format", the same after making an mp3 of it....
Any suggestions ?

Umm, tmpgenc seems to accept ac3 sound just fine for me

He probably just has a ac3-able directshowfilter installed. You can get one from Elcard yourself.

I'd recommend to use Nandub to demux the AC3 file from the AVI and than use BeSweet to transcode to MP2. This should give the best possible quality (I don't want to rely on DirectShow Filter decoding in TMPGEnc, this was always a little tricky for me).

I was also able to work with AC3 sound in TMPGenc before formatting my hard drive. since my format I cannot, and I DID NOT have the elecard codec installed before that. Also the elecard codec seems to put a little watermark thing in the upper right hand corner of every video I encode.... pretty crummy.... oh well just means I strip the ac3 out before the encode now...
