Ran into this problem last week and though I have a work around now thought I'd throw this out to you guys and see if you had any input. (the 3 day wait to post on a new account was killing me)

Anyway, in the past I have just thrown VOB files into TMPGenc and trascoded them from there when I needed to get the size down. HOWEVER I have recently ran into several titles that see one or more of the vob files as 1 second long. It seems these vob files have extras also in them (in the one in question it was a slide show).

I have tried several thing, one was to run the vob through DVD2AVI but it also would not work, matter of fact just about every program sees it as one second. Truthfully I think DVD2AVI saw the entire vob but if I tried to select the portions I wanted to you "yank out" it would crash like all the rest.

My eventual solution was to use VSTRIP to strip it into each cell, then figure out which ones were the movie only and then reencode them, however this also makes me lose my menus.

Anyone have a better suggestion? Oh yeah and these are NOT warner bro titles.

@flaystus,

How big is your VOBs ?
What program (ripper) did you sue to rip it from the DVD ?

I think you better re-rip the DVD, give DVDDecrypter chance to
rip the DVD and use the DVD2AVI again to preview the VOBs.

Vobs are 1gb each, and I used smart ripper, to be honest smartripper is the only one I've ever used as its always done the job well in the past, and reripping with smartripper gives the same results, the dvd is new and clean. The rip is good... its the VOB itself that has some monkey business going on.
