I have a question I hope someone more knowlegeable than I can answer here.
I see how in smartripper or dvd decryptor, you can extract VOB's and have it split them according to chapter etc.
I've found that sometimes I get mixed results. I usually split them by chapter. But last week I was trying to get a chapter from a movie called the Killer (john woo flick). i wanted to extract one of the gun battle scenes for a compilation dvd-r i'm making for myself.
Well the problem is, it would create two vob files. the first vob i'd use vobedit to demux, and it would be fine.
i'd do the same with the 2nd file, but it would create an invalid mpeg file. I was unable to import that file into Spruce Up or adobe premiere.
I finally got it working by telling smartripper NOT to split files based on anything, just create one big fat file.

but in order to keep the ac3 file, i can't split it now.
Is there any decent way to split the VOB files and keep the ac3 file? I tried using VOBSPLIT. and that program produced totally bogus files...
my guess is, i need something like DVD maestro to pull this off..but its quite costly :)
