Hi,

I have a particular need to convert some menu assets I ripped using voborator - I have a number of m2v files that contain still menu pictures . I need a quick easy method to convert these to bmp.

I know Maestro will allow you to import the m2v file into the timeline and create a bmp from there but its not working for me as the m2v file appears to only be a few frames and maestro will not allow me clink in the timeline to export ...

I also tried Premiere but it won't import these files..

So I need another easy method of converting to bmp if possible !

Thanks !

Did you zoom all the way in on the clip?

Well the way I do it is to open the m2v in my Hollywood+ software and pause the video then use the capture function.

Of course if you don't use a Hollywood+ decoder card and software this wont work for you but if I'm not mistaken you can do the same thing in PowerDVD.

Hope this helps.

Yup just checked, here's how to do it in PowerDVD...

Instructions

1. Insert a DVD in the DVD drive in your computer or open a file on your hard disk.

2. Move your mouse pointer on top of the player window and RIGHT-click to display a menu.

3. Click on Configuration.

4. Click on the “Capture” tab.

5. Click on the “Capture to File” radio button and then click on the “OK” button.

6. Click on the “Play” button.

7. Click on the “Pause” button when the frame you want to capture appears on the screen.

8. Click on the “Capture” icon (it looks like a small camera) to capture the still image.

NOTE: An icon with a file name will appear on your Desktop. The file name will have .BMP extension because the file is saved in a bitmat format.

Hope this helps.

Hi Adex ,

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.. The problem though is the file is only a few frames long, there is no possible way to use the powerdvd capture function, impossible to have the reflexes to pause on such a small file...I have tried this already :( ..

Thanks

open your m2v with DVD2AVI, select RGB for color space.

Now you can save BMP in the menu option -> Save BMP
