How can we make copy of DVD-9 after removing
macrovision, to be replicated on DVD9. (Either
on DLT or DVD-R)

I want all contents of original dvd9 intact.

Please help.

Thanks.

Had any luck, mate ?

Pardon me, I did some reading and discovered that things were
being tested out. Derrow's guide on splitting DVD to 2 DVD-R's , isn't splitting (correct me if I'm wrong) the two layers on
DVD 9, is it ? If not than, how do I get to do it ?

Thanks.

Not that we condone this (copying a DVD to DLT for mastering) - but it's really simple. Just read some info about SmartRipper or DVDDecrypter. Macrovision, jeez, we defeated that years ago.

@jaffree :

You should have checked in this forum there is a complete guide in there : http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27408

But you should be a little familiar with the products used before doing it ;) (as I should too!)

Ciao!

Thanks for your feedback guys, but what I was looking for, is a way to make premaster DLTs from dvd-9 for further replication of dvd-9 at factory.

That means I want to get two DLT tapes with complete DDP layer information without tampering with original contents.

So far I have found DLT writing option in DVDWise which makes UDF Image file from VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders (which were ripped, region freed and macrovision patched earlier). And then we can write DLTs within DVDWise from Image. But there were many options which I could not understand how to fill them. I have tried many different settings but could not get correct output for replication. Maybe someone could guide me on filling those options.

DVD Maestro requires .LAY (DVD Maestro project) file to write DLTs for dual layer DVD. DVD Maestro is very good if DVD-9 project is authored in Maestro.

Another software I suspect that would be helpful, is Gear DVDPro Mastering Edition. As they say in its features, it can write DVD-R for DVD-5 and DLTs for DVD-9,10,14,18. But unfortunately, I could not find any demo of this software so I could test it. I hope someone in this forum may has tested it and he may tell us the outcome.

Please comment.

I'm sorry that this is going to be my first action as a moderator but I really cannot agree with sharing information about mass reproduction of copyright protected DVD's. It clearly does not fall into the category of "fair use" and is not in the spirit of which this forum was created. I would understand if it was discussing DLT mastering in general for original work but it is clearly about making masters of copyrighted material off of DVD-9 discs. I'm sorry but I am going to close this thread.
