Hello guys,

I have a number of DVDrs that were ifoedited in the past months and I am facing with a strange problem.

In my standalone Affrey LD1020 they work fine, never had any problems, but in a friends Pionneer DV530 they startup but cannot pass the menu screen. In a DVD9 2 DVD5 split methode second disk does not start at all, as well as in Jurassic III where there is a small 1sec black clip before the universal logo.

All of them are the same cheap branch and all were written in 1x in a DVDR A03.

Is there an issue with 530? Does ne1 know nething?

Hi!
yes you are right the playback depends on the media it was written on it. The best medias are apple and verbatim....

I write to cheap media O.K. and have had good results.:D
As for the start-up of the 2nd disc when split :-
Go into VIDEO-TS.IFO with ifo edit. In the top half of the screen go into the VMGI_MAT (Double click) table and enter into the '+ First Play PGC' option. Scroll down to the bottom of the file and right click on the jump TT command. This will give you various options to select. If you want it to start up with the film select jump to title 'x' where 'x' is the main film title.
Happy Ripping

It's not all about the media though. IFOEdit does do something that certain players don't like. On my Xbox, movies that were authored out of spruceup and never touched by IFOEdit will play perfectly. Burned games will also play perfectly (yes, it is modded). Any movie that IFOEdit has touched in any way *will not* play on my xbox. I'm using Gear Pro 6.01 to burn movies, and Prassi Primo DVD 2 to burn games. And this is all with the same cheap generic DVD-R media burned on my A03.

So there is something that is different about IFOEdit rips...and you can't blame it all on the media.
