Hey,

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Shop4tech is selling 9.4gb, double-sided PrimeDisc DVD-R's. Has anyone tried them yet?? I'm still having great luck with the single sided ones from PrimeDisc, think I might take a sample and see if they work. Only bitch will be what to do with my fancy thin labels!! Oh well, as long as they play!

I'll post my results after my first batch.

You get a better deal at CD-Recordable.com You get 50 double sided
DVD-r for $2.50 each. I've had 100% burning success.

Bought 10 double-sided from cdrecordable a while back, 3 were bad. Not trying them again at $1 each.

I really don't want to see this thread turn into another "cdrecordable.com bashing" thread. If anyone has opinions, let's try to keep them only about the PrimeDisc media so we all stay on topic.

That being said, I too have used the dual-sided CDrecordable.com media. It seemed to be just as reliable as the single sided for quite a while. Then I started running into many problems. Sometimes they work great, and sometimes they don't work at all. I've even had some that were perfectly fine for a while and then a month later, they won't play at all! I have no idea why either as there are no scratches on the disc. It just doesn't play anymore.

I'm sure myself and everyone else would like to find cheap media that is just as reliable as the name brands. So far, I've stuck to the Verbatim's as they are the cheapest I've found that are 100% reliable. I'd like to hear unbiased opinions about the PrimeDisc media if anyone has them. Thanks!

Hey, TRILIGHT, can you tell me the cheapest UK dealer selling the Verbatims, please?

Cheers for any pointers!

Sorry, Arky. I'm in the US. I get them from Hypermicro.com at $42US for a 10 pack which, in my opinion, is a pretty damn good deal for Verbatim's! They ship via FedEx so I'm sure they ship just about anywhere. I just tried to call them to find out but they close at 6pm CST. I've bought a number of things from them over the years and they've always been very reliable and helpful and never screw people on shipping the way a lot of places do. I'll give them a call tomorrow and find out what they have to say about shipping to the UK.

Cheers mate, I really appreciate the help ;)

(and yes, that is pretty damn cheap for Verbatims...)

Well, I've got bad news, Arky. I just got off the phone with them and, unfortunately, they only ship to North America. Sorry :(

it seems pretty hard to find cheap medias in europe :(
(i live in france : to cinders : worst team player now ! :) )

i'd like to buy primedisc from shop4tech.com but it seems pretty difficult.

for now i buy from applestore.com (they are pionneer i think).

but it stills costs me around 7 bucks (with shipping).

I also ordered 5 double-sided from shop4tech (I ordered some other stuff from them so I figured shipping would outweigh anyhow).

If you have used these things before - Can you use them to make a straight copy? Does it look like one DVD or two individual ones? Do I have to burn it then as two single-sided ones?

A guide?

Sorry if someone asked this before - I couldn't find it then.

Think of it as 2 single-sided DVD-Rs slapped together, back-to-back. Yes, you'll need to follow the same steps you would normally take to create 2 DVD-Rs, except all you have to do is flip the disc to get to the other blank.

Does the verbatim discs work in the ps2, only for movies as I don't copy games
