Anybody using this with 5.02? I tried it but did not get along with it too well and the results were not very convincing either.
Any comments appreciated.

I've been using this tool with DivX4 and when DivX5 came out, I didn't use this tool anymore...
Since yesterday, when I've been encoding A.I. I think this film is a little bit hard to encode because there are some scenes where camera is panning and there are very much detailed objects in the picture. If anybody interested what I mean it is 1:20:41 in the movie. (I would post some results but I have very slow connection). When you look at this scene there is the stone fountain in the scene and you can see very very ugly moving artifacts (the ugliest I've ever seen in my own "production").
Method is SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, VDub+AviSynth, DivX 5.0.2. I've tried w/wo B-frames, GMC, Qpel and PSY, bitrate 1300 (640x352) and 1800 (720x400), resize filter was Avisyth neutral bicubic). Obtained very similar results - ugly artifacts.
And then I remembered "good old" divx4log. I've tried this scene with this tool (no zones, mQ I:2, MQ I:2, mQ P:2, MQ P:12, mQ B:2, MQ B:12, linear distribution method for all quantizers) and I was amazed. NO UGLY ARTIFACTS IN THIS SCENE ANYMORE!! I'm not really sure what why. I think it is because of setting quantizer for keyframes to 2, maybe because of distribution method, but result was great!!
Now I'm trying different movies (Matrix, Con Air, Final Fantasy, Forrest Gump - also very hard to compress...) so I'm curious...
Anyway I think that idea of having I frame quantizer set to 2 is great, because P and B frames are "derived" from it, so better quality of I frame = better quality of P and B frames. Am I right?
So if anyone has some experiences with divx4log and DivX 5.0.2, please post it here.
Btw great work DmitryR :)

@mikeson:
DivX5 already sets the keyframe to quant 2. Changing the min/max quant in the DivX5 configuration screen only affects the P/B-frame range.

I didn't know that. But why are I frames set to different values than just 2 in 2-pass log files?

I believe there is full documentation in the zip file. Download and check out for yourself.

@ Acaila
I think, you're wrong about keyframes. As mikeson said, keyframes have different quantizers in the analyse.log file.

Hmm, could be. Actually I wasn't sure about that one :D
But then, DivX4 never sticked to its own logfile either as Dmitry once proved I believe...
