How can I install the DivX ;-) Audio codec without having to install the DivX 3.11alpha video codecs? Thanks.

There isn't a specific "divx" audio codec. Audio is in various formats such as mp3, ac3, etc. Get either the tsunami or nimo codec packs and install only what you need. If you load your avi into nandub and select file properties, it will list what the audio has been encoded as. Note: if it says something like tag 2000 then it usually is encoded as ac3.

DivX ;) Audio is about the worst audio codec you can use. Why would you possibly want it?

@Acaila

There is a specific audio format called divx? I searched the doc guides and forum and can't find anything listed. Must be pretty bad quality.

Well, it's WMA actually, kinda like DivX3=WMV. I don't know the specifics/origin, but it sucks really bad :) (Most filter packs, like Nimo's, have it).

EDIT: Ooh, I've reached the demonic number with this post. w00t! :D

I just have a couple old avi's I'd like to play that use DivX Audio. I'll use Nimo to install it. Thanks.

I've got a movie containing 2 Divx ;-) audio streams and have extracted the language i wanted, using graphedit

Now i want to multiplex Divx ;-) Audio codec stream back to a avi file. I've tested virtualdub and nandub using wav option. It failed each time. Please let me know which tool i have to use to multiplex this audio stream..
