I have made plenty of dvds with Maestro and for some reason even after reinstalling Maestro i get this error when i load the ac3 file from Kate & Leopold. I even tried different programs to extract the ac3 file and all result in this error. I then tried Spruce UP and still same error. Does anyone know this error and how to fix it?

Error message:Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted (0xc1070042)

Thanks
Ben

The msg means there is a problem with the ac3 file, not Maestro. Possibly not ripped correctly, or an error was introduced somewhere. Start from the DVD again, if the error is still there then there remain 2 possibilities 1) the disk has an irrecoverable error or 2) the ac3 stream is actually corrupt on the disk. The latter is unlikely, but not impossible - check another copy, or with someone else.

There is someone that can confirm my idea????
Thanks a lot for answers.

p.s. I'm going to try it

p.p.s I've tried AC3FIX. The problem disappear and Spruce ends the import of the .ac3 file but when I play the simulation the video and the audio are no more synchronized. Why????????????

I got this error when doing the second disk of The Ten Commandments. I was going to rent the DVD somewhere else and try again. You'd think if your gonna be nice and steal a movie about god this wouldn't happen

Ahh yes, the Ten Commandments - isn't that something to the effect of "thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife's ass" ? ;)

Well I'll just stick to coveting his wife, thanks! :D

Now this is just getting silly. (I'll clean up the thread in a couple of days if anyone objects, but after all - life is too short to be serious all the time!)
