View Full Version : Merging 2 DivX 5 avi's made by Gordian Knot/Virtual Dub

I used the Gordian Knot tutorial for DVD to DivX 5, but one of the DVDs I ripped is Stargate.
it is a 2 sided DVD. you have to turn the DVD over to play the other half. So I encoded both halves.
How would I merge these two 350NB AVIs into one big 700NB avi?

I tried opening them in Virtual Dub, but it didn't like the Audio, and wanted to decompress the audio.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

audio properties must be also exactly the same: CBR MP3 with the same bitrate and the same sampling rate.

VBR or ABR are not allowed!

so if they are both VBR, I can't combine them?

Try using Nandub for those VBR avi's.
Or you could combine the 2 wav-files and the 2 video-only-avi's *before* you mux them. (But of course you've still have to use Nandub to mux if you make VBR)

You can do something more ... "professional"!

-Rip both sides on different directories.
-Open DVD2AVI, press F3 and load the VOB’s of the first side. Then press ADD and load the VOB’s of the second side!
-Continue the usual way… everything will be perfect and sync! As if the movie was on a single sided DVD!
