Hi
Just downloaded a few divx movies. I was thinking I could put 2 or 3 on a DVD-R.
I have followed the guides and used tmpgenc to re-encode video to an m2v file and vdub to encode audio to a juicy big 48mHz wav file. Now I am authoring them in Scenarist. It all works but the final DVD is 2.9 GB. So, not much chance of getting two movies on the DVD. Does this sound right? I go from a 700MB Divx AVI to a 3GB DVD. I am thinking that somewhere along the line I choose too high a quality with no real gain apart from a big file. Does this make sense?
On a related subject, the movie I tried (Oc**ns 11) when played in media player and previewed in tmpgenc has big black bars top and bottom (clearly 16:9). Do I just accept this or should I have made some changes in tmpgenc? I used the DVD template in tmpgenc and don't have many options to change things in the advanced settings - I basically left everything as defaults (constant quality, source aspect ratio(1:1) and video arrange method set to fullscreen(keep aspect ratio). Is that what I should have done?
Hope some kind sole can point me in the right direction. I searched the groups but most talk is to do with DVD->VCD and not the way I want to do it.
