Hi
I have imported a movie in spruceup 1.1.
The movie has mpg2 video and ac3 audio, but after importing the icon was´nt in the menu.
The docs says ac3 is supported but it doesnt work.
I also tried with demultiplexed m2v and ac3, spruce says you can not import audio directly.
what is the problem???

you have to make sure the video and audio are in the same folder and have exactly the same name except the extension. Once the video loads it automatically loads the audio, but it HAS to be the same file name. ex.(movie.m2v and movie.ac3)

I've used Spruceup and the AC3 loads fine. Has anyone noticed the volume level after using Spruceup to be less than that of the original? I've used 5.1 DD AC3 stripped with Smartripper and also tried it with DVD2AVI and after Spruceup the audio is always lower level than the original. Using CCE for encoding but since the audio isn't done in CCE, this shouldn't be the problem. At least the audio sounds good and is sync'd with video after authoring.

Try comparing the audio attributes of both .ifo files. My guess is the AC3 stream isn't changed at all. You can use IfoEdit or a hex editor, here's some info on the layout http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/dvd/ifo.html

Thanks, I'll check both IFO's and compare when I get back to home to my main system. I checked the link and looked at audio attributes but didn't see any attribute that might relate to audio level. I'll search around in the IFO to see what I can find.
I had read on the IFOedit site someone mention DVD Junior and am going to try their demo. Seems like a decent (and more up to date than Spruce) authoring program. The LE version is $99 and might do all I need. I'll test and see if it does the same thing with audio. At least it has DTS and multi audio ability. Looked into Scenarist, Maestro, and ReelDVD but they are too pricey. Anyway, thanks for the info.
