Dear all,
I recently upgraded to a later version of bsplayer (bsplay085.486.zip). However, I have been unable to load any movies since. I have un-installed it and reloaded earlier versions but the same thing now happens. I am ableto run bsplayer but the moment I try to load any video file (avi, ogm, mpeg,.....) it crashes and throws an exception (see attached screendumps for the detail). It doesn't matter which version of bsplayer I try now the same exception is thrown. Is this a valid bug within bsplayer??? Has anyone else seen the same thing?

I suspect that I could have corrupted the registry in some weird way but I'm not sure how to recover. Or maybe my video drivers are stuffed?

bsplayer is one of my favourite players and I would like to get it back asap. So anybody's advice would be much appreciated.

run clearreg.exe and unreg.bat (both in the bsplay.exe directory) and you'll have a 'clean' registry.

hope it helps

Avih, thanks for the advice. I tried both but still got the same bsplayer crash. I have put my problem onto the bsplayer forum and am waiting for their advice as well.

Maybe I need to re-install windows..?

[edit]
Here is the fix from 'Smarties' of the bsplayer forum;

* open BSPlayer (without opening a movie!)
* go to preferences and choose the other overlay method (if you had
mode 1 use mode 2 now and vice-versa)
* close player
* open player again and load movie
* watch your movie and be happy

I post it here so anyone with the same problem in the future will know what to do.

Gazza :) :) :)

:o I recommend you discard bsplayer, use the professional one, the best video player in the world, WinDVD. You can download WinDVD 4.0 from the Free Download Area of www.jummpa.com

gunnimabi, just wondering how you

-switch audio tracks
-zoom
-jump to chapters
-fastforward/rewind
-play 2 cd files
.
.
.

with the "best video player in the world"

Look at this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=26739. Maybe it's only because of the latest nvidia 29.42 drivers. Having the same probs but with the old 28.32 it works fine...
