What are the limits imposed to the avi joining process?
i mean for example can i (and is useful)join avis encoded with different bitrate on the video and on the mp3 audiofile? there are some possible problems in the playback of it?
i'm telling this because it'll be very useful to encode some static part of an anime with a imposed very low bitrate.

Tnx:D

at least bit rate for the video does not matter,
but the codec and frame size should be the same...

(that s what e.g. the gordian knot does:
it encodes the credit with lower bit rate
and joins them to the master part.)

Hi-

The audio won't join unless it has the same bit rate.

I'm not sure I agree. By the very nature of VBR encoding, the static scenes are already encoded at a lower bit rate. You lower the bit rate much more, and they start to look bad. However, the easiest way to do what you propose is to use the Selection and Manual Correction areas in the Stats File Editor Tab of GKnot. The result is similar to what lark mentioned about encoding the end credits at a lower bit rate.

Yes, probably the yours is the best choice,i've told this 'cause i have to do with a serie that arrives from the most worst master i've never seen and during the encoding the sbc interpretate wrong the video and the final size is 40%bigger.
Adjusting the codec options the result are almost the same;i've seen thet are some static scenes that the codec doesn't recognise and assing doesn't uptake the bitrate used for the high motion scenes, probably because they are very bright and vivid (i'm also thinking to correct luminance or luma options but the results doesn't change).
Thanks

 "at least bit rate for the video does not matter,
