WMP6.4 with MP3 playback = no sound

Hi, my WMP6.4 plays back DivX avi that have wav sound encoding just fine, but not MP3 encoded DivX avi. As a test I also ran DivX Player using an MP3 encoded DivX avi, and it played back just fine. So the problem is just with WMP6.4, but what?

Anyone know how to get my WMP6.4 to play back DivX MP3 encoded avi. Thanks.

OS is Win2K,sp2.

Hey, I solved my problem. What I did was de-install all Divx with Add\ remove programs, then I went through the registry and did a search & delete on the word "divx"- I deleted ALL instances. Rebooted.
Installed 3.11alpha (not over-writing any newer files), then installed 502bundle.exe. Now WMP6.4 & Player 2 play divx with 3.11 audio and mp3 audio.

BTW, DivX Player2 no longer crashes out on a FF!
