i want to burn some 4:3 PAL S-VHS tapes on SVCD.
I read in the forum that the DVD/SVCD-Player stretch the SVCD Movie to 4:3 if it is encodet as 480x576. And i read that the max horizontal resolution of DVD is 720x576 PAL. But 576x(4:3)=768!?
Now my question: Does the player stretch to real 4:3 (768x576) or only to 720x576 by playing the SVCD-movie to fit the TV- or PC-screen?
i have the possibility to capture from tape in 768x576 or 720x576. Here the same problem: 720x576 isn't real 4:3. So i use 768x576. But i want to know, if i encode this tape in 480x576 SVCD the player play it in the correct aspect ratio 4:3 (768x576) or only 720x576?
