Hello,

As the Subject says I am looking for a tool that checks a MPEG file for the properties.

I know about the tools Bitrate Viewer and MPEGProperties1.0 but both don't work as I wish.

Bitrate viewer doesn't tell anything about the Audio and only recognizes the files as MPEG1 (even when I'm 100% sure it's MPEG2).

MPEG Properties1.0 (and also Bitrate Viewer) doesn't work with already burned (S)VCD. It doesn't recognize the MPEG at all.
Sometimes only the Audio TAB appears but mostly nothing appears.

So I am looking for a "better" tool that can tell me the next (or at least most of it);

- BEING ABLE TO READ FROM A BURNED (S)VCD DISC.
- MPEG1 or MPEG2
- Video and Audio Bitrate (VBR or CBR)
- Audio Sampling Rate 44.100 or 48.000 hz
- Resolution

Anyone know such a tool excists ? Eventually as being a part of a bigger program like TMPGenc, DVD2AVI or something like that. (These 2 examples don't do the job either...)

Thanx
Mars-L

1. BitrateViewer tells the correct MPEG1/2 type and works form CD (just tested-don't know what goes wrong)
2. MPEGprop is shit - true
3. Look at MPEGanalizzatore (http://www.offeryn.de/dv.htm). A little complicated but shows really all.

I usually drop the file in FlaskMPEG (http://go.to/flaskmpeg) and it gives me most but NOT all the information you mentioned.
