Hi everybody,
i want to encode 4:3 interlaced DVD-Material (90 Min) whis CCE. No black frames there so there's a lot of Video/Audiodata to be squeezed into 27xx kbps, and... I dont want to use more than 2 CDs a 800MB.

Whats better for Quality. CBR ore 1pass VBR?

If i use CBR for encoding in order to increase speed, which BITRATE will be selected?

The Max. depending on the length of the film )
(e.g. 2CDs a 800 MB -> 1600 MB / (90Min*60))
or is it 25xx as defined on the bitrate-tab).
or...

Can someone help?

Greetings
Martin

For a 90 min video on 2 - 80 min CDR you will have a bit rate of 2200 - 2250 depending on what sound bit rate you select. If you put 2500 in the max average tab you allow DVD2SVCD to select its own bit rate below 2500 for 2 80 min CDR - At over 2200 kbps - I would use CBR but others may have a differing opinion .

/B]the correct bitrate to fit it to 2 CD's, according to your bitrate tab settings of course.

btw, in the time you have waited for a response, you probably could have completed a 3-pass VBR encode.
