other than gordian knot..what other encoder will encode the quality gk did

Since it's DivX 5.x they are all the same and most of them are based on VirtualDub.
But anyway, this has no impact on quality, you get the same quality everywhere.

did? Are you having a problem that prevents you from using gnot? I would simply stick with what you know and the quality you like.

That's not true. Quality heavily depends on what resizing filters are used. As long as these filters are the same as VDub's (or avisynth's) you'll get the same quality because of course the codec remains the same.
Programs like Vidomi and XMPEG use other resizing methods and thus quality will differ from those based on VDub.
But I haven't used anything else besides Avisynth/VDub for a long time so I don't what other programs can encode into DivX5 nowadays.
