Hi all,
I've changed the url for my site to xvid.hopto.org (http://xvid.hopto.org). The old url will work for a few more days (weeks) but sooner or later I will be changing hosts. If my old host dies sooner than expected I might be out for a few days.

Can anybody recomend cheap web hosting ? I need about 20-30megs of space and 1-2GB transfer a month.

@uManiac,

I'm just trying to download from this url :
http://umaniac.leffe.dnsalias.com/bins/XviD.Alpha.14.06.2002.exe
but I got an 404 error, file not found ;(

Ps. Congrat for the new server ;)

I also had the same problem plus the link for the 'Mail to' didn't work either when I tried to report problems. I 'got around' the problem by downloading http://umaniac.leffe.dnsalias.com/alpha/XviD.Alpha.17.06.2002.1220.exe in the instant download page.

Maybe the 'bins' directory is not properly setup?

I can confirm that the /bins/XviD.Alpha.14.06.2002.exe is missing, so go for the /alpha/-build for now.

Your right. The file is missing. My bad. I'll upload it soon, but it's just a copy of the alpha build anyway so just use that for now.

@uManiac,

Thank you, the link is working now ;)

Build 14.06.02: XviD 14.06.02.exe (275kb) (now working),
New INTER4V heuristics, bugfix in Motion Estimation, fixes in hinted ME and Luma Masking (safe to use both in both passes), fixes in DShow (no green flash in begining of clip) and fixes in the ratecontrol (when running many XviD encoders at the same time). This package also contains the new url.

uManiac,
Unfortunately I could not download http://umaniac.leffe.dnsalias.com/alpha/XviD.Alpha.19.06.2002.1440.exe in the instant builds. Error reported that page could not be found.

I get the same problem too. No problem with the files on the Downloads section though.

I can confirm that the latest version in the alpha/ is XviD.Alpha.19.06.2002.1420.exe (link (http://umaniac.leffe.dnsalias.com/alpha/XviD.Alpha.19.06.2002.1420.exe))

So either the link is wrong or uManiac's instantbuild didn't want us to get the latest version. :)

@uManiac:
congrats for the new address ;)

what compiler r u using?
since koepi started to use the intel compiler, many ppl see a massive improvement in performance over msvc.

would you consider offerring intel compiled builds as well?

thx

Yepp, the build is missing. There was an error in the most recent update to the CVS (unresolved external symbol _transfer_8to16copy_mmx) so the install file was never created. Just use the most recent one of the old alphas (http://xvid.hopto.org/alpha). I need to do something so that the instant build page isn't updated if the build fails. I'll work on it today.

@avih:
I use MSVC6 sp5. I don't have the Intel Compiler. I could try using the 30 day trial, but that will only work for...30 days :). Also I'm going on summer vacation in 2 weeks so I don't want to make any major changes at the last minute that would break something :D However things can be tested in 2 weeks.
I think Koepi mentioned somthing about using tweaked compile parameters in MSVC to get more speed. I'll try to search for that thread.

uManiac:
I've been using www.hostsave.com for 3 or 4 years, and it works fine, I've had some minor problems but mostly it's pretty stable. I've used some servers that were little bit faster like Imagelinkusa but their config was constantly screwed up (dns and pop3 issues, etc.) so I quit and went back to Hostsave.
