Capturing still images from video

What's the best program for capturing and saving still images from general video formats to a HD? Preferably with high resolution and/or fullscreen capabilities :confused:

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

don't know about the best,
but one pretty good solution is to use virtualdub.
at least you can find exactly the frame you are interested in ;-)

capturing in full screen is cheating,
because the picture has been resized...
