NTSC to PAL, De-interlace?

Hello, not sure if by doing a NTSC to Pal conversion if I still need to De-interlace the movie? if not, is there any drawback by doing these conversions all the time when I live in the NTSC world, this way I would not need to worry if the movie was partly interlaced or not??
