When I attempt to load the ac3 file as the input file, I cannot see the ac3 files that I know are in the folder. I just cannot load them into the program. Am I missing something?

in the name of the file type "*.ac3" and press Enter and it will show you all the files in that particular folder which have the ac3 extension

Another question. How come when I selct the input file, the output file is called output.aac. Shouldn't my output file be an ac3 file like it says in the quide?

I`m having the same problem aswell. you have to manually put in the input and output to get it to work.
By the way, besweet is THE Audio app. What a program:D :D :D

hihi, that's very weird...

I'm having the same problem as well.
I can't get it to reckonise .ac3 files ( tried the above answer to no avail ) and also if i select ac3 wave as output i should end up with a wave file , but end up with ac3 ( have tried to manually enter .wav as output and it will create file but when i burn and play it in dvd, amp reckonises it as dolby digital but no sound produced.
I hope some can help.

OK i've just reinstalled the prog to a seperate folder and i can now find the ac3 files , but what do i put as a file name if i select ac3 wave eg: song1.wav or song1.ac3 or do i leave it out.
Have tried both putting "wav" and or "ac3" , when put "wav" it works but only as stereo.
When i put "ac3" it displays "dolby Digital" but no sound .
Slowly getting there
Thanks in advance

try unchecking the delay value.
or, just run the following commandline :
E:\Audio Ripping\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe -core( -input C:\DVD Rip\eric clapton_V01C13.ac3 -output C:\DVD Rip\ec13.wav -logfilea BeSweet.log -ddwav )

The Ac3 bitrate was actually set to 384 , but ended up with the above.
Tried reloading AC3machine, the funny thing was that i ended up with an output " aac "
Tried the command line via " XP dos comman " and got no results.

what's your system setup ? (do you use opt/coax connection?)
and if you hear no sound, maybe that's because the volume is very low, try encoding with checking 'maximum gain'.
makaone

I use a marantz dts, dolby digital receiver , with pioneer dvd player and connected via optical.
When i play it in dvd player it detects that there is a d/d format being played , but will not disply channel information on amp , hence no sound.
When played on winamp the file sounds like a helicopter ( i realise it won't play correctly but maybe it will indicate if there is a prob with file in your eyes )
MaTTeR
13th June 2002, 13:19
The helicopter sound is most likely because the sound card isn't passing the stream properly. This is why I had to bypass my sound card as well.

Thanks for the responce , but i was under the impression that my sound card hade no influence on the encodeding of a " -ddwav " file nor when playing it if i just burned the file to a cd and played via a standalone dvd player.
I'm not trying to be able to play the track on my PC just trying to create " DD cd " that i can play on any stand alone.
Once again thanks for your responces.
DSPguru ,
I tried to encode with " max gain " ticked , still no sound only detecting " DD sound format"
Sorry for the head ache , but i really want to get it working as this sounds like a bloody great thing.

Well i think you have done it, it worked fine and i now have sound.
Thanks once again for your great prog and keep it up...
Is there any reason why you could'nt incorporate ac3machine into besweet gui as well as all others, so as to only have one big perfect prog instead of 3 little ones.
For simplicity sake!!!!
Just a question!
Thanks again

MaTTeR,
The sound quility is damn near perfect, there is a few very minor things that are different from the original dvd 5.1 sound track.
I would like to see in the future if possible for an option to increase or decreases sound levels for each channel.
Once again EXCELLENT work DSPguru.
