Hi, thanks for reading.
i've read and got the instructions in how to convert the audio of a DivX file from 48000 to 44100Hz to make a VCD. I did like that: 1)Open video; 2)Chose Audio Full process mode; 3)in conversion i changed the audio to 44100 and 4)Save wave. But after i click to save the wave file, VirtualDub1.4 status window appears for less than 1 sec. and the final file size is about 100Kb to 1Mb. I tested Nandub, virtualdub 1.4/MP3 and the same error happened. Does anybody know what i can do to extract the audio in the right frequency with this program?
Thanks.:)

You have to additional select "non compressed PCM" in the audio compression tab, don't ask why, but it works then ;)
After that you can compress the plain .wav to .mp2 with tooLAME.

Thanks, but i tryed it and nothing happened just another error:
"ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format"

it's weird, do you have another idea to solve my problem?

Sounds as if you don't have installed the proper decompression codec for the sound format this avi is using. What does the windows property page say about the audio format?

I've another idea:
Try to save the plain 48 kHz wav on disk ( hope this works ). Then resample it using ssrc ( shibatch sample rate converter ). Then use tooLAME.

There is also a slightly chance, that the audio stream is corrupted.

hope anything helps... ;)

I have that pack of codecs from Nimo Build 7 but i didn't install everything.
Going in File -> File Information in VirtualDub the only thing that interests is Sampling rate: 48000Hz and channels 2(stereo). It was made with divx 3.11 low motion
I tried to extract the same movie in another computer (faster than mine) and i got the same problem.

Now when i rip dvds i keep the mp3 files than when i'm gonna do a VCD i use winamp to convert to wav then i use TMPGEncoder. But i have movies that i didn't do that so if it was possible i'd like to extract the wave from the divx.
