xvcd vs. xsvcd what's the difference...my player supports them all (apex - ad 1000 )...the problem i have is that a friend of mine ( whom has tons of brand spankin' new original dvd's & wants to trade me )has a panasonic player that will not play my svcd's.

the question i have is the only difference i can find between svcd, xvcd, & xsvcd is the bitrate setting...is this true?

VCD has MPEG1 and has a resolution of 352x288 if PAL and 352x240 if NTSC
SVCD has MPEG2 and has a resolution of 480x576 if PAL and 480x480 if NTSC
