Panasonic DVD/CD-R/RW/VCD Player Question

I personally own a Apex player, all the (s)vcd i rip play great on my Apex player, but a friend of mine has a Panasonic player that is compatible with vcd's, but when we player one of my (s)vcd's in it the picture looks great, but the sound is jumpy, jerky, & cuts out constantly...what is strange is that it plays original dvd's & copied music cd's great...i do not get it.

does anyone have one of these players?
is there a setting that needs to be changed somewhere?
can anyone help?

According to the dvd player database at www.vcdhelp.com, this player does not support SVCD format, but does support XVCD.

Please review that database for 80 detailed comments.
