Hello :)

I'm no expert, but I'm no novice either. I've ripped whole DVD movies to my hard drive to watch latter when it's more conveinent (perfect for rental DVDs) and I am also experienced in creating VCDs, SVCDs and now DivX.

But I've never seen a guide or explaination on how to convert PAL video to NTSC. Surely this must be possible. If I recall DVD2SVCD has an option to go from NTSC to PAL but not vice-versa. I seem to remember once reading how to convert from NTSC to PAL using a common program (I forget which one now but it was something common like nandub or something like that).

Well, how do you convert PAL to NTSC?

Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try a search this has been covered in detail in both the SVCD and DVD2SVCD forums.

Nothing simpler than that.
Open your AVI in VirtualDub, check "Direct Stream Copy" for video and "No Audio" for Audio, change the framerate to 23,976fps and save to a new AVI.
Now take the original WAV file, and change its duration to:

Old Length x 25 / 23,976 = New Length

The length must be very precise, that means in milliseconds (ms)

I think, BeSweet can do that.
At the end, you may convert the new WAV to MP3 and mux video & audio in NanDub.
