hey, ive been been playing around with Nandub and encoding anime lately. But one thing that disturbs me, is that When i open my encode in Nandub and do "file information" it says my Divx Quality is in the 40-50 range. I look at other anime groups at what the produce anywhere from 70-90 on the DivX Quality file information. Oddly enough though the quality i do still looks good/hard to discern from the other. Is there certain values that adjust the percentage the file information is read off. Which give its Quality Score from?? I opened up one release which was done by someone who has values of 26 for Quality. When i re-encode that sucker i get the 40-50 range (was using some filters to help clean it up a bit. they forgot to deinterlace it as well). But when i try to re-encode the higher quality ones that were at 90% as it were -- i usually end up getting a 20's myself. Adjusting the min/max bitrage higher almost has opposte desired effect it seems? Thats oddly enough doing single passes or doing the whole thing-ma-jig. In both cases they both scored low.... Oddly enough they got their 24 min ep down to 140 megs with a 640x360 rip. Is this File Information on crack/have no relevance. Or is their some settings im not aware of that affect this (tho i dont know what, as im using the same stuff to do the re-encodes against each other).
err..
anyone know why?
