Hi there,

DVD2SVCD uses freeware AZID to downmix AC3 to DolbyDigital.

But today I have found "DSEncode" for downmixing.
This app is free, but it uses the expensive SoftEncode from Sonic Foundry.
You have to load the AC3-File and DSEncode grapps the temporary files, SoftEncode has extraced.
Then it mixes them into a standard wav-file.

You can find it here:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/svcdguide/svcd.html
"mixes SoftEncode's decoded Output of 5.1 AC-3 down to a Dolby Surround conform stereo wave - obsolete!"

Is the way of AZID a better / the same one?

Thanks
Tobias

hmm... let's see.. the author writes it's obsolete and offers another, azid-based ac3 decoding program on the same page.. what could that mean?

get the hint? ;)

ahhhh - I understand now!

Obsolete means ... this version is an old methode and there's a newer, better one => AZID :-)
