Please help Sorry but I have spent 3 weeks trying to split files with very little luck.

Sometimes when I open a file it says

"virtualdub has detected an improper VBR encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may intrioduce up to 0ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate 128.0-+ 0.1 kbps)

Is the above message (which I have no idea how to solve) the cause of the following problems??

Normally a file will play ok apart from 50% of files pause for a fraction of a second every few seconds in the picture.

But the problem is when I split a file in half then most of the time the file plays incredibly slowly like I am very low on Ram but I have 446RAM.

On divx player it says I am low on virtual memory, I have tried to increase it but its still the same.

Sometimes a file will work fine.

All help greatly appreciated

you can try using nandub , it has better support for vbr encoded audio.
