If I try to mux a subtitle file with an .avi file in virtual dub, I MUST choose full processing mode?? Or just direct stream copy would be ok? Btw, I was looking for a good guide about muxing subtitles files with .sub extension with virtual dub. If you know any, just let me know.
Thanks in advance!

if u mean permament subtitles in the movie then u have to use full
and reencode the whole movie i am afraid.

but am I going to loose quality...? How much virtual dub will compress the movie. There is no way I can avoid the recompress or set it to zero?

Yes, you will loose quality.
No, there is no way to add the subs permanently to the movie without a recompress.

But you don't have to add them just to watch them, you can use any of a number of subtitlers (or whatever you call them), ex. VobSub.

what if I still have the vobs. The movie is Fast and the furious. I got all the vobs, but lost the ifo file, so I downloaded from the net a sub file. How do I mux it?
Thanx for your attention! :)
