View Full Version : Chik Chik Chik Sound on my Speaker when Playing AC3

OK. I can not stand this anymore. Whenever I play AC3, whether this is DVD or DivX (either using PowerDVD or WinDVD anyversion) I have the most annoying sound on my rear right speaker.

I DO HAVE SB Live 5.1 and I use the internal decoding (Creative 2200).
I run WinXP.

Please (o please) give me any advice. And please tell me if there is another 5.1 AC3 decoding filter than the buggy iviaudio.ax. If something like this DOES exist please tell me where I can find it!

Welcome to my world! :)

Actually, I've only ever accounted this problem with AC3 AVIs. DVD playback has always been fine. What drivers are you using? I recommend using the ones from Creative's website and NOT the ones from Windows Update.

I used the newest iviaudio.ax from WinDVD 4 and told it to decode it rather than the SBLive. (ie, chose the "6 channels" option in properties rather than "SPDIF"). Works fine.
