I was under the impression that I could use DVD2SVCD to copy my DVD rentals to my CD-R. After reading as much as I could understand in DVD2SVCD, I realized that its quite impossible. I wasted 10 CD's before reading the forum guides and discovered how wrong I was.

Even if I wrote it to my hard drive, I would run out of space before I would be able to copy it to my CD.

Now if only someone would create something like DVD2SVCD that would convert DVD to CD-R.

You must have understood something wrong again. DVD2SVCD is a program that makes it possible to copy the video content from DVD to CDR. Not 1:1, it must be re-encoded at a lower mpeg2 bitrate, then burned to CD-R. It's then playable in most standalone DVD players.

If you don't have the disk space for at least two DVD's, bad luck. But HD's are cheap those days!
