View Full Version : Selecting audio source when doing a virtualdub capture?

I've finally gotten my Hauppage WinTV 404 capture card working in windows XP.

Now, this card uses a stereo minijack cable to pass the mono sound from the card to your sound card via the "line in" jack.

When watching t.v. or from the composite source, I get sound fine. Even watching it IN virtualdub I get sound, so I know sound IS coming from my VCR.

I'm using the windows 2000 drivers BTW because the Windows XP ones do not allow you to capture higher than 320x240 with HuffYuv.

So: When I actually capture, I GET NO SOUND. I assume it is because VirtualDub is set to use a different source as the "sound source", perhaps internal passthrough, etc.

I can't change it. No option appears. When I had my Rage Theater chip card, it would allow me to select an audio source, but now it just lets me switch between composite or TV.

Any ideas?
