Hi all,

I have a SB Live Value CT4830.

Just wondering if anybody else has trouble playing back ac3 divx with this card? When i do i get a stuttering effect?!?

But I guess my system is capable of playing ac3 because i can play dvds fine with Power DVD XP. I have been reading up on spdif and am unsure wether i can use that or not with this card.

Anyone had similar experiences or know a solution.

What interleave settings did you use when you muxed the AC3? Depending on what's used, people have reported the stuttering or jerky playback.

I think i used the defaults for nandub and virtualdub ac3 and i used
160ms for preroll and interleave in avimux...

what settings do u recommend, oh and which of the above or any other app thats better???

IMO NanDub does a very nice job for muxing the AC3, no need to really use anything else.

Follow the link in my signature for some ideas on which interleave settings to use for smooth playback.

Now i get a "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Under XP and WMP 6.4.

This only happens when the movie has an audio file - mp3 or ac3!

I have registered the audiofilters from the download section.

+ Im getting a "Voxware compression toolkit" in device mgr (audio codecs), but when i go into its properties and select "use codec" then OK the codec disappears from the dev mgr.

I had problems with Audigy card, I use Gordian Knot. I decided to settle for doing audio manually it dosen't take long, I used 64mS for interleave value and have had no problems so far, I think its something to do with how the card takes chunks of data at a time, Cheers Lee :)
