I am trying to get the audio from xmen vob files but I keep getting stuck. I tried the graph edit but I keep getting errors of " Graph couldn't change state" and "One or more arguments are invalid". What is that supposed to mean? With vob2audio I don't have the ifo file, is ther a place where I can find it or how do I make from vob files on my hd? Is there any other audio ripping programs I can use to get the sound out of the vob files? Any help would be appreciated.

You can find the IFO file in the DVD. If you use Smartripper to copy the DVD make sure you select the option "Copy IFO-File" in the Settings.

using dvd2avi would be the most obvious solution for me.

correct. dvd2avi can demux all tracks and will give you ac3 files with audio delay info.
