woo hoo, my first 800 meg OGM will be supported! Thanks for oggmux! Now off to do some AC3 OGM testing.

Cool, but OggMux still lacks one feature. With GraphEdit I can add coments to every stream - this is useful because I can have streams called not only "English" but e.g. "English 6ch" or "English - director's comments" and so on. Would be nice if this feature was available.

There's always something missing.

If you'd look at the version number, you would see that this is more-or-less a maintenance-release.

A "thanks" would've sufficed ;)

For release 1.0 (hopefully with built-in XCD-backup-creator & mode2-cdmaker > 1 step from separate video-&audio-streams to XCD-image:cool: ) I will make this with ASCII like „§:p

Really thanx,
Raist

P.S. What do you think of such a one-step-solution for XCDs using oggmux? Is this realizable? Actually ogm (or whatever you call it, I prefer OGM ;) ) is the only available container offering ecc, so its logical that we use ogm for XCD, so such a one-way-step would be really cool.

BTW, specs for backup-file finished? any release date for XCD-backup creator yet?

P.P.S sorry, I tried to make big "thankx" using # but it doesn't show correct, here in edit window it's correct:confused:

You have to use the "code"-tag to show this up in monospaced characters. in the edit window courier is used, but the forum uses arial to show the post.

It should be possible to integrate that functionality into oggmux...

avih asked me to wait a little as he wants to refine the spec once more (e.g. storing generally the first 2kb of every file no matter what media type as the most filters preload this).

So I'm sorry, can't release anything yet :-/

Koepi

P.S.: thanks for the thanks :)

hi koepi - new oggmux, all i can say is fantastic and thanks! :) ...

just wonderin ... if u could be so kind, what does this fix/alter ?

"Made the GUI non-blocking."

if this question is too dumb don't bother answering, it's not real important ...

Before this release the GUI wasn't processing windows messages so it was blocked. You couldn't move it around while muxing and there was no way to stop the muxing process once you started it, even killing the app didn't stop the filtergraph (!).

So now you can have windows over the muxer and if you click onto it's taskbar entry it will come to front - it didn't behave this way before.

I hope you get the idea :)

thx Koepi, great release again, did some testing, everything works perfect... just one question here: What's the status on the chapter splitting problem ( when splitting ogm files, chapters are not splitted)?

Yupp, it would have been mentioned in the changelog.

I have to work together with Tobias on that as I wrote on another thread some days ago. But he sadly is a little busy at the moment.

Just a small question about the backup-file?
Does it has its own header?
I mean for storing the info about which media-type-header is backuped inside?

If not, adding such a header to the backup-file would make the XCD compatible even to future containers (not released yet) even without a new XCD-playback-filter! Only XCD backup-creator needed to be updated for making correct header-backups of the new container.

If I'm correct such a backup-header should contain the container-type being backuped and the position, where this backup shall be applied in the data-file. So Playback-filter would not need modifications, but only one release, which does what it gets told by the backup-file itself!

Correct? Is your backup-file having such a header?

I think this will result in a unbreakable compatibility to all data-containers, so you have to think less of implenting all possible container types at first release, but you can add them step-by-step!..(and release your actual as first alpha:D , no, just jocking, but I'm really expecting your first release with stress)!)

Our first spec of the backup files can be found at xcd.sourceforge.net, but it wouldn't be of any help since avih wants to fine-tune the spec a little.
I guess it's time to make another IRC conference with De_XT and avih to think about it. And then we finally need some format gurus - for avi it's really frustrating complex to create a backup file, and MCF isn't too easy either(plenty of chunks to backup in the middle of the file? come on... if this is really necessary you should tweak the specs, seriously!). Until now it's only the OGG container which is robust enough to really be a good streaming candidate IMHO (in the terms of recovering without problems even if there are some sectors/kbyte lost).

Sorry, but this is my point of view.

Misunderstanding!

In my opinion ogg-container is also best, that why I asked for combination of oggmux & mode2-cd-maker. If sometimes mcf will be released, I will stay with ogg, there are already good running tools for that, like your OGGMUX:)

All I wanted to know if you have such a header for your backup-file, because then you could release your tool without supporting all containers like avi yet, and add them later with complete backward-compatibility.;)

BTW, I thought avi has no ecc, would it make sense to backup it's headers? I mean, who is so crazy to use avi for XCDs?
Moreover oggmux offers several audio-streams in one ogg-container, I don't remember such a easy tool for avis, vdub offers only two (or was this nandub?)
