Hello!

i've been out of the encoding circulation for a bit, due to some internal problems in my country. i am back at full speed, but i need to get updated on one matter that intrested me for very long:

did someone found a way to use DTS stream in DivX AVIs? i am not talking about DTS encoding, but about using the actual original DTS stream in a AVI movie.

thanx.

as far as I know, not yet... but i'm not so sure why it isn't possible seeing as AC3 is just passed through, why can't dts just pass through too

it has no sense to use dts in a divx because its to big (about 1 gb)!!!
you can read it everywhere ;)

funny that all people think a divx avi must fit on 1 or 2 cds...

Well most people do think of 2CD rips when disucssing audio such as DD 5.1. However, we now have an 100MB per CD thanks to XCD(mode2cdmaker). If I did a rip to 3CDs then I'd save myself the time and money and just go buy another copy of the DVD:)

With XCD pretty much right around the corner, the DTS argument in respect to size is pretty much mute IMO. Until now the file size has definitely been the biggest issue and why most of the developers haven't even considered it I suppose. Maybe that changes soon;)
