i recently downloaded an svcd off the net. when i viewed it on my comp using powerdvd, it worked fine. then i burned it onto cds and tested them on my comp. and again they worked fine. i then tried to play these cd's on my dvd player (pioneer dv 440) and they do not have color. they are shown as black and white. this is very strange. at first i thought my standalone was messed up. so i tried watching one of the other svcd's that i have and voila! it worked fine. i tried to watch a few more and they all worked fine. i then put in this svcd i burnt and it was black and white again. the same svcd plays color on my comp's dvd player.

can anyone tell me what is goin on? and how i can watch it in color on my standalone? :confused:

thanx for your time

Maybe a PAL/NTSC issue?

Definitly a pal/ntsc issue. I live in the US now but lived in Germany for awhile and have a multisystem tv. I have svcds that play black and white on my ntsc tv but in color on the multisystem.

thanks guys. it probly is a pal/ntsc issue then.

@cofferscuffs

i just searched for scart lead on google and i see its some kind of a wire. i'm really not good with hardware (or software) :( can you please explain how would i be able to do this with a pioneer and a tv? sorry if this seems like a dum question

*edit* - i was looking more and i found this page: https://www.linkonline.co.uk/LinkSupport/showfaq.asp?fldAuto=21 i'm a little bit more familiar but not comfortable with it. one quick question: is svhs lead connection the same as S-Video connection?
