SORRY I MEANT FOR IT TO SAY FILE SIZE TOO BIG IN THE SUBJECT!!!
I'm using divx 5.02 with gknot 0.26. The final size of my movie was 860,412 KB when I set it to fit on a single 700MB cd and I think I know why. Below is a quote from the gknot log file:
10:58:16 AM: Started DivX5-First Pass: C:\My Movies\Thirteen Days\thirteendays.avs
3:24:18 PM: Finished DivX5-First Pass. Duration: 4 hours, 26 minutes, 1 second.
3:24:18 PM: Trying to open Log-file.
3:24:28 PM: Success: Log-file open.
3:24:28 PM: Encoded: 209388 Frames.
3:24:28 PM: Speed: 13.118 Frames per Second.
3:24:28 PM: WARNING: Number of counted frames differs from settings!
3:24:28 PM: WARNING: Settings: 261728
3:24:28 PM: WARNING: Counted: 209388
3:24:28 PM: WARNING: Difference: 52340
3:24:28 PM: Correcting Bitrate...
3:24:28 PM: Original Bitrate = 534 k(=1000)Bits/s
3:24:28 PM: Now encoding at 670 k(=1000)Bits/s
If it hadn't corrected the bitrate I believe my movie would have turned out with the expected file size. Can someone tell me why the counted frames differ? And is there a setting to prevent it from recalculating in a situation such as this?
thx for any help
