View Full Version : Wav-file too big
I have a 1.5 Gb Avi supposed to be converted into SVCD. It gives you a wav-file well above 2Gb which appearently is too much to handle for BeeSweet. Is there any app capable of handling such big files or is the only way to split my Avi up?? It is convenient though to make the whole lot video encoding in TMPGenc, then using bbNpeg for the splitting, but since I cannot make the Mp2 file in BeSweet it seems not possible. The movie is Ben Hur some 3,5 to 4 hours long.

I'm not really sure, but I think TMPG can open WAV files over 2GB and encode them to MP2

I am doing a conversion to PAL at the same time, maybe the framrate will complicate the matter, but I will give it a try. Thank you.

BeSweet shouldn't care about the wav size.
please paste your BeSweet's logfile.

i would suggest you to use DVD2SVCD (http://dvd2svcd.doom9.org)'s AVI2SVCD mode. it will do anything for you.
To try DVD2SVCD seems to be a very good idea. I totally forgot about that AVI-option. Thanks.

Hallo
The source is a wav -file done according to the guides in Virtual dub. It holds 2.08 Gb. BeSweet (GUI) starts and immediately shuts down. I made a shorter than 2Gb file from the same stuff and it worked perfectly. Well here is the log file:
C:\Bart\DVDRippning\Apps\VCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe -core( -input c:\Bart\Filmjobb\Ben-Hur Long.wav -output C:\Bart\Filmjobb\Ben hur.mp2 -logfile C:\Bart\DVDRippning\Apps\VCD\BeSweetGUI\BeSweet.log ) -ota( -r 960 1001 ) -ssrc( --rate 44100 ) -2lame( -m j -b 192 -e )

Another matter: I tried the DVD2SVCD and CCE - method (Conversion to PAL (SVCD)). Everything worked great and brilliant, except that it gave a faulthy aspect ratio to the film (Ben Hur) The height is somewhat too small, slightly compressing faces and so on. (4:3)program setting. Is there an option for this somewhere?? In CCE??

that's really weird !
try to cut it into two pieces with BeSplit, and then use a listfile (or batchmode of BeSweetGUI) to encode the two into one mp2.

Thanks, another good idea. I will also try the latest versions of acid - and lame files. I see that my present ones are quite "ancient". On the other hand, I have done my homework with DVD2SVCD and it now works great after some corrections in the avisynth files concerning aspect ratio when converting to PAL. Thanks again for your help. I will give it a new try.
