DVDx problem

This is the first time I used DVDx to encode the movie I ripped using SmartRipper, for some reason the audio sux, it pops all the time, any time there is an audio increase the poping is louder.
The audio codec that was used was Lame MP3.
Would for example CladDVD with DVD2AVI help me in this matter?

Ok. What did you use for audio bitrate and was it 2 or 6 channel you used?
Here is what I use. Lame 128 bit/s 6ch. Sometimes it gives me that same problem, but then I just open the file in DivX player 2 and there is all of a sudden no sound popping anymore :)
