is avisynth needed if i am making a dvd

I usually rip a dvd then use either dvd2avi -> vfapicoder -> cce or flask with the cce 2.64plugin. Is there a benefit using avisynth or link2 when my final result is to put the rip back onto dvd? Is there a speed or quality advantage.

would appreciate some input!

AVISynth is faster, and you can do filtering in there to make the picture better.

thanks for the input...now i just need to figure out how to use link2 now that i laid out the 15 bucks
