A very simple question:

When you slide the slider in GKnot to the left does resolution increase or decrease, and does the resulting file size get bigger or smaller?

The reason i ask is because the compressability check % increases as you slide the slider to the left which according to doom's guide increases quality.

Also, does a compressability % of 100 mean perfect quality? and is that what we are aiming for?

Thanks for all your help

sorry nick, you really have to read the guide, how to and stuff before you are allowed to post and ask questions!

wef...i did read the guide, like i said, and because i am confused that is why i posted the question, if you can find the answer in the guide and prove me wrong, so be it and i will appologize for wasting your time.

Doom does not tell in his guide why quality increases as you go left on the slider in GKnot even though resolution decreases. Thats all I want to know!

lower resolution = less pixels to encode = better quality at given bitrate.
If you want to achieve better quality at a high resolution, you have to increase the bitrate.

And... 100% is overkill, but yes, it is as perfect as Divx can do.
